Embark on a journey of discovery and knowledge 5,000 years in the making! Join this interactive presentation by Paul Verhelst, Ph.D. candidate and Instructional Support Assistant in the Museum's Center for the Analysis of Archaeological Materials (CAAM), to look at how science and archaeology come together to answer important questions about how people lived in the past. Together, we will investigate how small seeds from the archaeological settlement of Ras an-Numayra, Jordan, inform us about what the residents grew and ate—we’ll even learn about the agricultural struggles they faced while creating a specialized crop economy as the first urban centers developed in the Levant. This program is part of International Archaeology Day.
